Recycle Your Refrigerator/Freezer & Receive $50


Anaheim residents can receive $50 from Anaheim Public Utilities for recycling their old spare refrigerator or freezer. Did you know that in many households the refrigerator is the biggest energy-consuming appliance? By recycling it, not only will you receive $50, but you will also lower your utility bill.  We safely dispose of all harmful refrigerants, and 98% of the appliance gets reused and recycled.

Customers may be eligible to re-apply after five (5) years if they have another old spare refrigerator or freezer to recycle.

How the Program Works

  1. Call 877-838-1155 or apply online to confirm eligibility and schedule a pick up
  2. We'll send a certified recycling contractor to pick up and dispose of the unit properly
  3. You will receive your incentive check within six (6) weeks after the pickup of the unit

Requirements

  • Anaheim Public Utilities residential electric customers are eligible for the incentive.
  • Only one operating unit may be recycled for incentive, unless pre-approved by Anaheim Public Utilities.
  • The old spare refrigerator or freezer must be full-sized and between 10 and 32 cubic feet. Mini refrigerators, such as wine coolers or dorm coolers, and commercial-sized refrigerators do not qualify.
